Happenings On CampusOpening DaysOn September 6th and 7th, we welcomed more than 660 new and returning students from 44 countries to campus. The excitement was undeniable as Ridleians of all ages and their parents gathered for opening addresses from Headmaster Kidd, acquainted themselves with housemates and classmates, shared meals, met faculty members and enjoyed evening receptions before settling in.Terry Fox RunOn September 18th, approximately 120 Ridleians laced up their trainers and hit the pavement in support of cancer research at the annual Terry Fox Run. The students dashed around St. Catharines and raised more than $1,200 for this cause. It was fantastic to see that Ridley’s commitment to service is a life-long endeavor, as the local 2016 Run was organized by alumna, Michelle Dearborn '00 (Gretzinger).Snake DanceUnder a most-fitting full moon earlier in September, our Upper School students participated in one of the school’s oldest traditions, Snake Dance. The event, complete with an enormous bonfire and fireworks, was successful in building school spirit. View photos.

Annual Fund Sneak PreviewOur 2016-2017 fundraising projects were thoughtfully selected because they support the goals of the Strategic Plan and also aim to strike a balance between initiatives that preserve our school's history and promote pioneering approaches to learning.

Event RecapsHomeComing 2016This September, Ridley welcomed alumni – from years ending in 1 and 6 – back to campus for HomeComing 2016. The weekend began with a special celebration for the Class of 1966 – this year's Golden Tigers – and ended with the alumni vs. First Boys soccer game. Over 500 Old Ridleians, ranging from the class of 1951, through to last year’s graduating class, joined us to remember the past, celebrate the present, and embrace the future of our school. Ridley's CFL NightOn September 16th, members of the Ridley community met at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton to watch the Hamilton Tiger-Cats take on the Montreal Alouettes. After a hard fought football game, Hamilton kicked the winning field goal in the final moments to send hometown fans home happy.Bermuda ReceptionOn September 20th, Headmaster, Ed Kidd, Director of Development, Susan Hazell and Admissions Officer, Sarah Whitty enjoyed meeting with Ridley alumni, as well as current and past parents at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club. Alumni from the 1950s to 2000s were in attendance; including father and son, Dr. Duncan Moran ’62 and his son Sean Moran ’90.
