Watch the video.Ridley's Unique Playscape Supports Physical Literacy GoalsRidley’s all-natural playscape, which officially opened in late 2015, is at the forefront of physical literacy promotion by encouraging creative play, risky behaviours and fundamental movement skills, prescribed in Sport Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plan. The all-natural playscape – which was a part of the 2014-2015 annual giving campaign – is a very tangible example of how Ridley is maintaining its leading edge on physical literacy promotion in independent schools. Watch the video.Rowers Selected to Represent CanadaRidley rowers, Seth Moyer '18 and Clark Schultz '17 have been selected by Rowing Canada Aviron to represent Canada at the CanAmMex Regatta this summer. The team is considered a development opportunity for up-and-coming rowers, looking beyond high school level rowing. The regatta will be hosted by USRowing and will take place in Sarasota, Florida (location of the 2017 World Rowing Championships). Congratulations to both athletes. Read more.Governors' HouseOn July 13th, 2016, demolition began on Governors' House. Built in 1917, the Pest House (more recently known as Governors' House) has stood on campus for nearly a century. Since its construction, this structure has acted as an isolation hospital during the 1918 influenza epidemic, cadet storage, a dormitory, office space and housing for Ridley staff and faculty. It also once housed the rowing training tank. Its removal means exciting new opportunities for our evolving campus.

Event Recaps50th Anniversary of RowingIn June, Ridley celebrated its 50th anniversary of rowing with multiple festivities. On Friday, June 4th, current and past oarsmen and oarswomen enjoyed a dinner reception commemorating the school’s rich rowing history. Tributes were paid and memories were shared. This event served as a kick-off to the two-day Canadian Secondary School Rowing Association (CSSRA) Championships at Henley Island. On Sunday, June 5th, following competition, Ridley christened four shells in honour of Tony Biernacki, Jack Nicholson, Rick “Raz” Rasmussen and Fred Wodchis. View photos.
27th Annual RCA Golf TournamentMembers of the Ridley College community joined us at the Weston Golf & Country Club for the 27th annual RCA Golf Tournament. Participants enjoyed a day out on the course, followed by dinner. Over $15,000 was raised, thanks to our participants, sponsors and donors. All proceeds will go towards bursaries and scholarships.
