Ridley College Summer Renovations Summer improvements are in full swing all over campus! The slate tiles and copper eaves troughs are being replaced on the School House roof. Classrooms in the McLaughlin Wing (2nd floor) of the School House Building are also being renovated and will be ready for September. The School House Geography wing renovations are complete. There are now two classrooms as well as another room that will be dedicated to the Learning Centre where students will go for tutoring and help with learning strategies. The Geography wing is where the science labs/lecture halls were located in the 1960s before the 2nd Century Building became the new home to science and had not been renovated since then. Also - and this is a BIG one – the Great Hall now has air conditioning for those hot days in September and June. These renovations and many more would not be possible without your generous gifts to the Annual Fund and the contributions of the Ridley College Family Guild – thank you to everyone who has partnered with us in support of the school.
HomeComing 2012 HomeComing 2012 will take place on September 21-23rd. This year we will be celebrating years ending in 2s and 7s. For up to date information please click here. Ridley Rowing UK Henley Regatta At the end of June, Ridley’s Heavy Eight travelled to The UK Henley. After winning their first race against Anglican Church Grammar School from Australia they came up against England’s Shrewsbury School and finished 2 1/4 lengths back ending Ridley’s 2012 Henley Royal Regatta hopes. After hearing some of the emails that Ridley Alumni sent for them to read, they were able to garner a sense that in no way does the outcome of their race define them as a crew, or as individuals. In so many ways they have achieved well beyond the Schools and, perhaps, even their own expectations when this journey began two years ago. Thank you for your support!
A Fond Farewell Best wishes to Mr. Colin Brzezicki and Ms. Michelle Morrissey as they each embark on a new chapter in their lives. Colin taught at Ridley for 24 years and was a Housemaster of Leonard House. Michelle taught at Ridley for 10 years and was highly involved in planning camp and the Duke of Ed program.
