Playscape Ribbon Cutting (Phase 1)

Together with our Board of Governors, Executive Leadership team, and students, Headmaster Kidd cut the ribbon to mark the completion of the first phase of the playscape development. This fantastic, all-natural playscape was made possible by our donors, spearheaded by Mrs. Hanna Kidd and brought to life with input from our entire community. The children were ecstatic to explore all of its features. Click here to view photos. Click here to see the video.

UK Branch Dinner and AGM

On November 19th, our UK Branch held its annual general meeting (AGM) and dinner at the Royal Air Force Club. Dr. Andrew Weller, Ridley's Executive Director of Advancement, offered an update on the school, while Ms. Andrea Carisse, Ridley's new Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing, gave a lovely reflection on life at Ridley during WWII. Peter Cobb '47 captured the closeness of the Ridley family in his words before grace, asking us to remember those sadly no longer able to join us and Robert Ashe '74 gave a very moving tribute to Richard Bradley as part of his toast. For his service to Ridley and the UK Branch over the last 15 years, Rob Black '99 was presented the David A. MacLachlan '45 Ridley College Volunteer Award. The dinner was attended by ORs from the Class of 1946, all the way to the Class of 2014. It was a lovely evening for all in attendance.

Ridley Around the Globe

November was a busy month with receptions in London, Barbados, Grand Cayman, Hangzhou, Beijing, Shenzhen and New York City!

Special thanks to current parents, Jimmy and Sarah Clarke (of Barbados) and to John Michael and Zoe Foster (of Grand Cayman) for hosting the receptions at their homes.

We are grateful to Lyle Himebaugh ’82 and his family for their support and helping us to secure our New York City venue – The Century Club.

It was wonderful to meet with so many alumni, current and past parents, prospective Ridley parents and their children around the globe!

Building Your Career in Business       Coffee Chat Recap

Before work on December 9th, Georgina Black '85 hosted a group of alumni at KPMG in Toronto for our first ever Coffee Chat. Participants learned about Georgina's career, engaged in active discussion about their own personal careers, and discovered how they can experience growth in the business sector.

Coffee Chats are a new initiative introduced by the Development Office, and are meant to bring alumni together for an hour of informal professional development before work. Toronto area alumni, stay tuned for our next installment! If you have any questions, or would like additional information, please contact the Development Office at development@ridleycollege.com.

Ridley College MentORship Programme

We are excited to announce the launch of the Ridley College MentORship Programme! We will be accepting applications for our new MentORship Programme on January 12th, 2016. The purpose of this programme is to connect young alumni with a successful, experienced alumni who is working in their desired, or current career field. The programme will allow young Ridleians to take advantage of our strong school network as a means to advance their career.

We are excited to announce that we have 22 ORs - who have all been successful across a variety of industries after graduating from Ridley - registered as our 2016 mentors. Many of these mentors have been acknowledged by our school as 'Ridleians of Distinction'.

If you have any questions about the program, or are interested in assisting in a mentoring role, please contact Kory Lippert at (905) 684-1889 ext. 2321 or at kory_lippert@ridleycollege.com.
